The IT department offers Fachschaften and student groups all kinds of services, including the things listed below. If you need something else: ask us. Preferably by e-mail to support@stura.uni-heidelberg.de
It is not desirable for Fachschaften or groups to work with an e-mail address of a commercial e-mail provider such as GMX, Web.de or Google Mail. Such an address can be „lost“ if the account holder leaves university and forgets to hand it over properly. In addition, there is no reference to the university in the e-mail address – the address looks pretty arbitrary. The contents of the e-mails are scanned for advertising purposes even without the NSA. The included advertising doesn’t look particularly serious either.
That is why the IT department of the StuRa offers e-mail addresses according to the scheme
anyname@stura.uni-heidelberg.de
for Fachschaften and student groups.

You can also set up mailing lists (newsletters, discussion lists). These (also) have the format
anyname@stura.uni-heidelberg.de
Contact the IT department if you need one or more of these things.
By the way, some of the mailing lists are interesting for everyone .

on
https://bbb.stura.uni-heidelberg.de
Fachschaften, groups and other students can set up rooms for conferences free of charge. Register for free to set up rooms. You send the participants web link, they don’t need an account. It is the same system on which heiCONF is based.
Conferences with 15-25 cameras are possible. If only two or three people turn on their cameras and the others only use audio, you can confer with 200 or more participants.
There is a whiteboard for drawing, a presentation area, a built-in pad and surveys.
You can also dial into a conference by phone – but this usually results in poorer audio quality than with a PC or smartphone.
Also, for spontaneous, smaller conferences, there is
https://meet.stura.uni-heidelberg.de
It has fewer features than StuRaKonf (and is sometimes not as stable with more participants), but it is very easy to use spontaneously: Simply agree on an address according to the scheme https: //meet.stura.uni-heidelberg .de / our conference (whereby „our conference“ is freely selectable). Everyone who enters this address will automatically find themselves in the same video room.

Fachschaften and student groups can set up homepages on the Stura server. We use WordPress as CMS software. You get the address
https://anyname.stura.uni-heidelberg.de and
https://www.beliebigername.stura.uni-heidelberg.de
where „anyname“ is freely selectable.

Groups, student councils and active people can set up a cloud account at https://cloud.stura.uni-heidelberg.de . We use Nextcloud as cloud software. In the cloud, you can edit Office documents together in real time. Like Google Docs, but with privacy.

At https://pad.st ura.uni-heidelberg.de you can work together on texts in real time.
Die Pads bieten nicht so viele Formatierungsmöglichkeiten wie das gemeinsame Bearbeiten von Office-Dokumenten in der cloud (z.B. keine Tabellen oder Tabellenkalkulation) – siehe den Absatz oben. But they are easier to set up. No registration necessary, just get started.

There are two tools for this, OpenSlides and AntragsGrün:
2. OpenSlides
It can be used to manage meetings – for example, process motions and agendas, hold elections, organize participants. The option of organizing secret elections (i.e. elections in which the admin or the moderator cannot see who voted and how) is really good. The whole thing is certainly not constitutional, but sufficient for many situations.
The tool is a bit oversized for the average student council or university group meeting. However, it can be a good choice for constituent meetings with several elections or, for example, for supraregional meetings such as federal student council meetings or state assemblies of university groups. Or just when you need a more formal setting in a smaller group.
If you want to play around a little with the tool, you can do so on the manufacturer’s demo page.

Get in touch if you need free access for your group.
2. Application green
A tool that „only“ manages applications, but supports a very extensive and finely tuned process in this area.

Here you can create surveys with the tool „Lime Survey“ at https://umfragen.stura.uni-heidelberg.de . You can also use it as an online voting tool for meetings or online elections.
Get in touch if you need access. L

We don’t have a lot, but we are happy to temporarily lend our students WITHOUT laptops or computers.
If you are interested, it is best to write an email to us (with your mobile phone), or try to reach people in the office or on 06221 18712588 by phone.

If you are missing software such as Office that you would normally have used on the UB computers, also consider the offerings of the University Computer Center.
